When applying organic products we want them where they will do the most good, in the soil and in the plant! This is not always the case when you are spreading a granular product.
When you apply a granular product you are spreading a small granular over the lawn. This product contains a filler with a product attached to it, so only about 80% of the granular product applied is beneficial for the lawn. This dry product also needs a few things in order to start working effectively.
1. Spread evenly
2. Water to activate the product
3. Absorb into the soil
4. Taken up by the roots
Improper fertilizing techniques using granular products can cause runoff and pollution of our waterways. As you may know, we strive to keep our rivers clean by using our sustainable products that are approved by the DCR and the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay
When using a liquid product we bypass the steps and ensure that our product reaches the lawn and soil by spraying the lawn evenly. The liquid is absorbed by both the plant tissue and the soil at the same time and can start working and amending the soil.
We can also incorporate organic matter directly to the soil with our organic products. With our liquid product, we can add living microbes, beneficial fungi and soil health aspects to your lawn with each application.
