The holiday season is here and the days are filled with great family, friends, food and libations. We say it a lot but we couldn’t be happier that you are all part of the Project Green family! We are passionate about creating sustainable lawns in RVA and our reductions but what does this actually mean? This means lawns that are safe for our children, pets, and the environment.
When we talk about our reductions we are comparing our products to what the traditional companies in our areas are using. When you see all of the other white, green and yellow signs in yards do you know what is actually being put down? Well, we do and you are seeing synthetic fertilizers, insecticides, and herbicides that are not good for our children, pets and environment. We work continuously to find products to give you a healthy and safe lawn!
When you see our blue sign and green footprint there is more than just another lawn care treatment. You are helping keep the skies blue, the water clear and the grass GREEN.
How do we differ from our competitors?
Our Competitors Program:
4.0 pounds of syntheic Nitrogen
0.0 pounds of Organic Matter
1.5 pounds of Phosphorous
1.0 pounds of Potassium
Harmful herbicides and insecticides
Project Green Program:
1.8 pounds of Organic Nitrogen
10.89 pounds of Organic Matter
0.0 pounds of Phosphorous
0.45 pounds of Potassium
Eco/Bee Friendly weed/insect control
How do our reductions help the waterways?
When Nitrogen and Phosphorous runoff enter our waterways it causes excess algea growth. This reduces the amount of oxygen and sunlight which leads to eutrophication (fish kills) and dead zones in this vital ecosystem. This causes reduced populations of fish, unsafe swimming areas and countless other issues.
This means that we kept the following out of your lawns and away from our children, pets and watershed in 2016:
12,708 pounds of Nitrogen
3,260 pounds of Phosphorous
4,012 pounds of Potassium
2,793 Gallons of Pesticides
We keep your lawn looking great by using our organic fertilizers combined humic, fulvic acids and soil amendments to feed both the lawn and the soil!
